Due to the rising costs of medications more Americans than ever are turning to safe, licensed Canadian online pharmacies to save money on their necessary prescription medications, according to the results from a critical survey released by  The Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation (CPPI) on January 8, 2019. Ninety-four percent of respondents said that their primary reason for ordering from licensed online pharmacies was cost savings. More than half of the respondents say they save up to $199.00/month while 38% said they save anywhere from $300-910/month. According to the results from a critical survey released by The Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation (CPPI) on January 8, 2019, more Americans than ever are turning to safe, licensed, online Canadian pharmacies to save money on prescription medication. The CPPI published a press release with the results of a survey of their universe of followers. The survey was conducted between September 3 -November 12, 2018. The results clearly show that the overwhelming majority of American patients cite that cost is the primary reason for ordering their medications from  certified licensed online pharmacies in Canada.   Ninety-four percent of respondents said that their primary reason for ordering from licensed online pharmacies was cost savings. This is a 15% increase over last year’s survey result of seventy-nine percent. 97 percent of respondents said they would recommend personal prescription importation to their friends and family members. The recommendations don’t stop there. Many healthcare providers are recommending that their patients order their personal prescriptions from online pharmacies in Canada, as they witness their patients struggle with the cost of their medication.  Thirty-nine percent of respondents said that their healthcare provider or pharmacist was the one to tell them to look into ordering their medication online. 48% of survey respondents said they have been ordering their medications from Canada for more than four years.  “This survey shows the realities of personal prescription importation as a viable option for accessing medications safely and at considerable savings, which is essential for many Americans who struggle with skyrocketing drug prices,” said Tracy Cooley, Executive Director of the Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation.   “The high cost of prescription drugs has created a health and economic crisis in this country. Personal prescription importation gives Americans a lifeline for affording safe medications and many healthcare providers and pharmacists support importation as a viable option for their patients,” said Cooley. • 94% - cost
• 9% - consistent pricing
• 7% convenience
• 6% - consistency of availability
• 4% - lack of availability in the U.S.

Saving money through online ordering:

• 52% - respondents who say they save up to $199.00/month
• 38% - respondents who say they save more than $300/month.
• Among those who save more than $300/month, the average savings they report is $910.

Insurance coverage Even with health insurance, such as Medicare, many Americans still turn to safe and affordable prescription medications from Canadian pharmacies.  67% of survey respondents have Medicare, while 16% say that their employer provides insurance coverage.  9% said they don’t have any insurance coverage, while 8% are self-insured. • 40% - search for a verified, certified site when deciding on which online pharmacy to use.
• 28% - use an online pharmacy as recommended to them by a family member or friend.
• 29% - chose an online pharmacy based on best prices and ease of use.

It’s important to note that 88% of respondents said they can identify rogue websites that sell questionable and counterfeit medications.  This includes pharmacies that don’t ask for valid prescriptions, do not protect personal and medical information, and those that do not have actual licensed pharmacists on staff.    They also can tell if a website is questionable if they sell controlled substances.
